The first Forum at Woodside High School is on the theme of People Forced to Flee from Conflict and Disaster and features guest speakers, interactive exhibitions, research and action planning. 

Woodside High School are proud to host the first FYS-Forum in the UK on 25 November 2016. The Forum will focus on the first annual theme, People Forced to Flee from Conflict and Disaster. Woodside High School invites participating schools in the borough to participate in what is planned to be a unique and thought-provoking day culminating in students preparing a plan to take action on an aspect of the theme they feel they can help make a difference towards.

The first Forum at Woodside High School provides a unique opportunity to get a glimpse of the reality of people being forced to flee from conflict and disaster through an interactive photography exhibition complete with virtual reality headset. A collection of life preservers collected by Oxfam GB on the beaches of Chios in Greece worn by adults and children desperate to cross the sea and seek sanctuary in Europe also forms part of the exhibition. 

The event runs from 9.30 to 15:30 on Friday 25 November.
