Oxfam Italia (OIT) is an Italian Development NGO, non-profit association, full member of the International Confederation Oxfam which involved 18 organizations networked together in more than 90 countries, as part of a global movement for change, to build a future free from the injustice of poverty. Oxfam Italia staff include 24 employees, 276 project-based contracts in Italy and abroad and 822 volunteers.
The main areas of intervention of Oxfam Italia are: 1. Development cooperation and humanitarian aid. Oxfam Italia promotes and develops international cooperation projects in different areas of intervention: from agricultural and rural development, vocational training and education, to support interventions for health, strengthening of social public services and economic development to the local disaster prevention and environmental protection. Oxfam Italia operates in South East Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. 2. Campaigns and Education for Active Citizenship. In 2011, Oxfam has launched a global campaign in Italy called Grow - life, food, planet. 3. Project Area Italy.
